Using Different Programs to Document a Day in my Life.
Microsoft Word
Word is best used when the user has to format text and be very descriptive. A disadvantage that Word has is when adding graphics or tables it can mess with the document’s margins and disrupt the flow of the document. Using Word to document a day in my life is good to use as a digital journal but if you need to create tables or list data it is better to use Excell.
Microsoft Excell
The program Excell's main function is to create spreadsheets to list data and create formulas. The program’s advantage is the formulas can be used to also create charts, graphs, or other graphic depictions of data. A disadvantage of Excel is that details are held to a minimum and mostly numerals are used. When used to track a day in my life I would mostly use Excell to track the amount of time that I spend on my tasks.
Microsoft PowerPoint
PowerPoint is a program that can be used to present the data as a slide show and allows the addition of simple animations and graphics. This program allows the user the most creative prospects and can be presented to a large audience. If my day was very interesting I would use this program to create a slideshow of pictures that I took throughout the day. The advantage PowerPoint has when presenting pictures is you can add text to each slide and give further elaboration on what is going on in the photo.
Microsoft Access
The program Access is an information management tool that helps the user store information for reference, reporting, and analysis. A disadvantage of Access is the program is not commonly used so it is not as well known by the average user. The only time I would use this is in conjuncture with Excell which will give me further data percentages to use in Access.
